RADIO GOLF - Set in 1997, this is the tenth and final play in the Pittsburgh Cycle depicting the lifestyle of African Americans in the twentieth- century by August Wilson. Harmond Wilkes seeks a way to revitalize his childhood neighborhood and also become the first black mayor of Pittsburgh. He, along with his wife Mame, and his friend Roosevelt Hicks want to redevelop the Hill District in their town. Harmond begins questioning their plan and his purpose. Radio Golf is being Directed by ERIC RUFFIN with CHOREOGRAPHY by KHALIL GREEN. This production takes places in the AL FREEMAN JR. Wiley A. Branton Howard Law Journal Symposium

The Howard Law Journal will host the 13th Annual Wiley A. Branton Symposium titled “President Obama’s Legacy in the Courts: Executive Power and the Federal Judiciary” from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Oct. 14, in the Moot Court Room at Howard University Law School, 2900 Van Ness Street NW, Washington, DC 20008.

The event will feature Vanita Gupta, head of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, as the keynote speaker. The morning panel will discuss President Barack Obama’s appointments to the federal bench while the afternoon panel will look at the Obama administration in court—seminal cases. The event is free to register.

This year’s symposium is presented in partnership with the National Bar Association and Thurgood Marshall Law School, and sponsored by Sidley Austin L.L.P. and Debevoise & Plimpton L.L.P.
